Battu ... well start at the beginning and work back! How many times have you heard that from your tutor ... for me it has negative
connotations of "battered wives" leading to divorce ... for the more serious student of French ... it means work hard and you will win in the end.
Mentioning this and that by way of explanation is of great help in the classroom or University Seminar room, so I have chosen
a few words and phases as follows: Liste Alphabetique de tous les verbes du 3 groupe Have a bash at "brain storming" and ang a few words on the white board such as ..
savoir recevoir complaire vivre lire mettre battre and for the student whose first language is English ...
try a rhyming scheme ... such as savoir ... move over .. and continue this right to the end of your session.
I found this text book helpful and I was greatly relieved to find all the verbs listed alphabetically at the end ... it makes it quick and efficient and apart from the breaking up of these words into groups ... it is enjoyable and well presented.
The Verb programme is an exciting one to use with students of French and English and when you choose, say a word such as
"Understanding" and prefer to use it as a Noun, then I feel it imperative that you link it to a concept ... such as ...
"Understanding .... The E.U." is a way forward out of language bloc.
Happy reading. ... excellent stuff!
